I have a few of these plants that have cropped up from somewhere ...

Never had them in the garden before and have no idea what they are - can some please help and advise me if they should be removed?

It could be one of the Euphorbia family.

Its Euphorbia lathyris a wild Euphorbia  Up to you whether to remove or not. Can look pretty in the right location.

Definitely Euphorbia lathyris.

It has white milky sap.
