Hi. We moved into a new house not to long ago, we've been doing the garden when we came across this plant. Can anyone identify it please? (FYI The pods are furry to the touch.) Thanks.

Looks like a Wisteria.  Now is the time to do some pruning, cutting back the long rapidly growing thin shoots to about 6 or 7 leaves, unless you want to extend it in which case tie them in to the area to want the wisteria to spread to.  You should cut these same shoots back further (to 2 or 3 buds) in February.  That will keep it under control and enhance flowering.

The pods have seeds in but growing wisteria from seed is usually a waste of time as they can take donkeys years to flower.

As Bob says. nows the time to prune all the long wispy shoots back.
