Why don't I remember what plants I have?
this first one I think is a salvia which wasn't meant to survive the winter, anyone know?
The next two I expected to be the same grass (tenuissimaa?) but they look totally different, Can anyone please ID them?
(the one to the left - I know its a hodeum on the right)
thanks guys.

The salvia looks like S. patens which I have had survive winters.
Of the grasses, the second is S.tenuissima.
I can't see the first clearly. Possibly S.pennata but doesn't look pale enough

I think they are both what I gave you last year. Salvia patens and Stipa tenuissima seedlings.
Your salvia looks identical to one which I grow - Salvia Patens Deep Blue.
I originally started mine from a packet of Sarah Raven seed and these have now formed tubers which I've successfully overwintered by placing in a cold greenhouse.
Snap. I started with a packet from Sarah Raven, I overwinter some which flower early. I save seed from one year to the next. The seedlings flower later in the season.
Just collect the large seeds when they turn brown. Sow in March in greenhouse.
Thanks folks.
Yes Tetley, the grey matter is a bit fried, especially as I've probably pulled more of the s.patens out! Could it self seed as I (also) don't remember planting it in that border
Yes FB, the grasses are what you gave me, but not sure which ones. there's definately two different types (well three if you count the hordeum).
Still need to look up S.pennata, Nut, but it doesn't ring a bell with the name. I'll try and get a better photo.
Me again with new photos. (I can't tell from Mr Google nut).
the top ones are what FB gave me stipa tennuisima, upright (but can't get a pic when it's not windy) and a mass of flower/feathers.
the bottom ones are more sprawling and have long tails of feathers.
Whatever they are they are a lovely addition to the garden.
I wonder if the last is the former Stipa arundinacea. It's name has changed and I can't remember the new one. My grey matter is shot as well.
