advice-please

Hi I'm Sarah and I'm new to this so hello everyone.

I have a beautiful Torbay Dazzler in a large pot that has a baby plant attached about 18inches tall. I want to seperate the new plant without damaging either and I want the original plant to stay in the pot.

Here's a photo of the two plants. What is the best way to do this please?

Gently scrape away the soil from around the base of the baby plant to see if it has rooted.  If it has you should gently prise it out doing as little damage to the roots as possible.  If there are no roots leave it a bit longer.

  • Thanks for the advice. Mother & child are now seperate and doing well.

    Much appreciated.
