Anyone for squirrel crumble?

Hi all, Just went down the garden to pick a couple of apples to make an apple crumble only to find they have all gone! I know it is grey squirrels as I spotted one running off carrying an apple last weekend but thought with about 20 left on the trees they would only take a few. Wrong! Now I have a bowlful of freshly made crumble topping and absolutely nothing to put it on. Will have to go to the shops and buy some fruit now!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

They go after my figs, grapes and hazelnuts, not seen them going after the apples. I got in before them this year and picked everything.
I wondered where my apples went. One day I had quite a few left, then the next say they'd all disappeared
Bob squirrel curry is quite tasty
There are loads of American recipes for squirrel
Mine too.....although Daisy managed to retrieve one last night from her secret stash that she has buried.......she is a squirrel disguised as a Beagle!!!
I too am having squirrel trouble. I love to see the furry little beggars antics as they frolic round the garden but last winter I noticed a few small holes dug into our lawn. I thought, "well its only a few and they are only small. Squirrels too must live". I have now changed my mind! The little b******s have totally destroyed one end of the lawn, so if I cant find a way to discourage them, its time to kill em off and it may be a bloodbath as there are quite a lot of them. We have never in the last 10 years that I know of encouraged them by feeding them. So does anyone have any ideas to help me stop these adorable but annoying pest please.
Glenys, we borrowed a Jack russell for a bit. at the word Squirrel, he would chase them off the garden. The one that turned round and put its paws up got short shrift.
It definitely reduced the damage done for a while.
A friend of ours, living in Wales, ordered 2 squirrels for him and his friends Christmas dinner, they liked it very much but you do need one each.
They pinch our apples and pears too, so sympathy Bob. We are hoping our trees will soon be so prolific there will be enough for all And in the meantime, hanging nets of carbolic soap in the trees seems to have helped - apparently they don't like the smell
We had this problem in our previous home, they got in the loft through the roof , chewed the wires and caused a lot of problems.
We phoned the council asking if they had any advice how to prevent them getting in.we were told to " use a gun and shoot em "
