I normally do not cut any of these back as they look lovely in the winter but would they re-flower if I did?

I always dead head but they don't re flower in my experience wrightt.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I always leave mine as I think they look attractive for quite some time after they finish flowering and as you also say in the winter with a frost on them are so pretty. One of my pink ones is really large now and when it flowers reminds me of candy floss.
Same here, keep them until they look untidy then cut the flowers off never had one reflower. Have a dark red one at the moment that looks beautiful the pink one has been deflowered
I leave the dead flowers on mine until spring, mainly so I don't have bare looking ground which encourages the cats to sit on them
I planted two red, two pink and two white earlier this year. The pinks flowered firstly and once finished I cut the stems back on both, and each one has gone on to re-flower! Maybe just a fluke, I have never grown Astilbe before and know nothing about them.
The pink and red ones - not yet flowered - were given to me by my neighbour as single stems and I grew them on in my coldframe through the winter. The pink's have grown into absolute monsters too!
The whites I bought about a month ago from Morrisons of all places, whilst doing my weekly shop. They are just coming into flower now.
I think once I have had Augusts flowers from them all I will do as you all say and leave them over winter to look pretty in the frosts.
Thanks for all your comments. I was just wondering as Monty said deadhead Buddleia for more flowers on Gardeners World on Friday which I have never done before so went straight out Saturday and deadheaded mine. Then wandered around the garden to see what else I could cut back that I never had before that would re-flower, and noticed the Astible and Ligularia Przewalskii, and though I normally leave both for winter interest as I love the frost on them wondered if I could get a second lot of flowers first.
Managed to get a pic to upload to show you my second flush of flowers, this was cut back a fortnight ago and now back again. Like I said though, I haven't got a clue what I am doing, so may just be down to good luck!
As my clumps are large and I will be splitting them, I am going to cut back half of each plant and see what happens, that way I will still get the brown ones with frost.
