Best time to plant Sorbus and Salix trees (bare root trees)

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could advise when is the best time to plant Salix and Sorbus trees? We planted 6 of ours in April 2010, 2 salix and 2 sorbus tress have not taken at all?
