Black insect on lemon verbena

hello.
Have just gone out and inspected garden battered by heavy rain yesterday.
My Lemon Verbena has lots of tiny black insects clinging to the underside of the leaves and stem. I think it is black aphid. Do you agree? What's the best way to get rid of it. Have read of mild soapy water, I also have Rose Clear (treats black fly, but don't think it's the same as black aphid??)
Any advice much appreciated. Not a brilliant pic, needs enlarging. Thanks

Can't see anything in the photo but sounds like aphids. Brush or hose them off with water, you don't need chemicals

when I stretched the pic on the iPad the aphids were quite visible, but stretching here loses too much detail, they are there, really!
Will try a water spray. Thanks
I believe you Fiona, they're everywhere. I don't take much notice of them unless they get very extreme. They are part of nature and I like a natural garden, the birds pick them off for me and if it gets really unsightly I brush off or cut off
