Is there anything i can do to repair the damage to this camelia it has been accidently damaged by someone and a big slice of the bark has come off.
I feel if this isnt sorted, the shrub could
become diseased or something....anyone got any ideas????

Flower bird, I believe the RHS now advise against using any kind of wound paint on trees etc as it seems to retard the natural healing process.
I would remove that short stump just above it though - cut it almost flush. That dead stub is an entry point for disease and should never be left.
Ok will do bob...what does cut flush mean?
That just means cut it right back to the trunk, so there is almost nothing sticking out.
Thanks bob...
