I bought this in April this year, any ideas why it's died? Thanks.

the ground looks dry, if you only planted it in April you would have needed to water it copiously. There are still leaves on it, you could try watering it lots and you might be able to rescue it. Wind can also dry out a newly planted tree. Cherries are tough though, good luck
Yep water it. Also check if there are critters digging around the roots. Mice and moles galleries can easily cut throuh the rootball of a new plant. That will both damage the roots and cause the ground to dry up faster.
Thanks ladies. as there seems to be some remote hope I have said sorry to it ( watered well at first then admittedly forgot ). It now has a dressing of leaf mould and loads of water, and a bit of weed fabric on top to stop evaporation. I'll give it until next spring and keep my fingers tightly crossed - apart from when I'm watering it of course!
