Has anyone got any brilliant ideas of how to stop earwigs eating my Roses

An upturned pot filled with straw/shreaded paper put out at night time and taken away to another part of the garden in the morning is the traditional tip.

They are nocturnal so you need to find their hiding place-also there is a well used trick of placing an upturned flower pot filled with straw near the plants -the theory is they hide in there in the daytime so you can dispose of them then

You will never get rid of them and they also do some good in the garden

Smear some vaseline on the stems, mind the thorns though. Earwigs are actually a gardeners friend, they eat aphids and, unfortunately, pollen mite. I say unfortunately because, when attacking the pollen mite, they tend to do the damage to the blossoms.
