help ive been asked to find a solution to a customers hedge problem that goes around the front of his property,

the hedges have become overground and top heavy and are quite high possibly 1.5mtrs high aprox,

ive surgested cutting them back and re shaping them or putting up a small fence infront to aid support, but he said he doesnt want either, so im stuck is there some way of keeping the hedge up right  ? help

What sort of hedge are they?  How long have they been planted?

There is no magic solution to this, cutting back and reshaping as you suggest is the right answer. His only other option is to watch it get worse as the hedge grows even further out of control.

How about printing out a few articles from this site and the RHS (e.g. ) on how to keep hedges in trim and showing them to him?
