my gooseberry bush has branches that have gone white and collapsed . it seems to happen just about every year . What is wrong?
cant see any mildew and the leaves are half eaten .There are no visible signs of parasites except for tiny circles on some leaves

Mixture of gooseberry sawfly and pigeons jumping on them eating the fruit?  Can you take a photo?

Having trouble uploading a photo. The plant is drooping and no gooseberries have grown on the plant

I think it is a double, whammy of sawfly and mildew.  I would prune to allow air into the cemtre of the bush.....good time now.....and give a generous feed,of fish blood and bone.  A winter wash in autumn, after new leaves have gone, will help too.
