I usually start my lawn maintenence regime during March ie, scarifying, aerating etc, but my lawn is still very muddy and has wormcasts. Is it ok to go ahead with this at the weekend or should I wait?

My lawn is still very soft to walk on, I am putting off doing any lawn work for at least until it feels quite firm to walk on. You will do more harm than good doing it too early. Concentrate on areas of the garden you can work on now.

Meomye - I'd be tempted to leave it another week or so and let the ground dry up before you start work on it.

Thanks for replies, do I have to do anything about the wormcasts or will they be ok to just scarify over?

Sweep them in if they are dry and you do not like the sight of them. Its good fertilizer for the lawn.
