poorly witch hazel

I've had my witch hazel only a couple if years, but it didn't flier well thus winter and new the leaves are quite yellow. what can i do to make it better?

Is it planted in a pot or the soil?. It sounds as if it is in alkaline soil when they really love acid.  A dose of sequestrene or miracid might help.

Yes, indeed, a dose of ericaceous compost and some iron will pick it up no end.  Very good flowers on mine this year,  it lives in ordinary soil with the aforementioned help now and again.
