Seed germination

I have some delphiniums germinating at the moment, outside on the garden table. I've noticed though that despite a good rate of germination, many seedlings have the seed case still attached whilst trying to grow. Is this normal with delphiniums? Should they just be left until they throw off the seed case? Snipping them off with scissors risks damaging the embryonic leaves I would have thought.

It's not unusual Fishy, they normally drop off as the plant grows. They can be tapped off if they stick when the seedling is a bit larger.

Lots of different seeds do that Fishy just leave them to it they know what they are doing, might need to be under cover though soon.
