my spinach is being eaten. every plant has holes in it and i am not sure what could be eating it. there is no sign of insect. does anyone have an answer please?

It's probably slugs and or snails - remove old dying leaves and stems and keep the row clear of weeds - sprinkle crushed egg shells or grit around the plants and go out in the dark with a torch and a bucket with salt in it!

The leaves will still be ok to eat - just give them a good soak in lightly salted water to remove any slugs/snails that are hiding.

Agree, and it will be those tiny nasty little black things.
