Has anyone else found that their Daffs, and other bulbs are beginning to emerge too early. Will their growth slow down?

Obelixx

Yes and yes. If we get a cold spell they'll stop or slow down and wait for spring to start again.

It's worth going out and scattering wildlife friendly slug pellets about your borders as they do like to munch on new daff shoots and flowers. and slugs will be active in this warm spell too.

Yes, good isn't it. If this continues I'll have 'February Gold' in  February instead of March or even April as some years

sotongeoff

Cold spell on its way-at the weekend or thereabouts

There tends to be reports of this every year-so when will be "too early" be classed as normal

nutcutlet

Some years (not in the last few) we've had no snow til February or sometimes as late as March. I'm still waiting for a winter with none at all. We haven't had any yet this season. Barely any frost either, just a few before Cmas

One thing we can rely on, it'll do what it does and we won't know til a few days in advance what it's going to be. Suits me. If I knew for sure we'd got 120 frosty days to go I'd probably go into a decline.

nutcutlet

Please do. Before you get to the frost in July

nutcutlet

Just journalist panic I'm sure

nutcutlet

freezing fog this mornng. This is all your fault sotongeoff

Will plead guilty m'lady

All reports say we are all going to die from weather-again- in the next few days

nutcutlet

Oh no, not again.....

I have rather a low tolerance of journalists' emergencies
