Weed growing on and around rocks

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew what this weed is that is growing on and around the rocks in my rockery. It's pale green in colour, and the 'leaves' are not leaves as such, more like tiny fluid filled sacs wihich feel spongy to the touch?

It's very easy to pull up, but I'm curious as to what it is!

(I'll upload a picture in the morning)

Sounded like a sedum - and looks like one though I'm no expert. People usually plant them as rock garden plants, there are many many varieties. I think the flowers tend to be yellows and pinky reds. If you don't like it, it will pull up easily, as you have found out.

  • Thanks for you reply, I've googled it and it seems to match the images.

I'll probably leave it in now I know its not a weed!

Good to wait and see how it turns out but if you don't want it, it's a weed! Spanish bluebells are weeds in my garden, I'm constantly trying to get rid of them.

That kind of sedum is a weed.  If you try to remove it you will scatter it everywhere and every little bit will turn into a new plant. Ad infinitum!
