What are these?

I have just been in my GH and noticed these small light & dark brown bugs on my Pelargonium petals. Can anyone tell me what they are?

You may need to look rather closely to spot them, On both photo's there are 2 of the lighter brown bugs near the centre of the top bloom and a darker one further below.

I don't think they are anything to worry about NG. I can't magnify the image up enough to give you a definitive answer.

They certainly look like pollen beetles though all the ones I've seen look black.  Maybe they're fresh hatched

  • I was going to say I've only ever seen black pollen beetles before.

I'm a bit bemused as to where they've come from as there were no signs of eggs or anything on them yesterday they just appeared today lol
Will have to keep an eye out image

  • On the 2nd photo, the two brown things on the top flower are simply the pollen-bearing parts (anthers) which have shrivelled and fallen off of the stamens.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Could they be thrips?
