We have a 25 year old weeping willow which hasn't done too well in the last couple of years. Some leaves have had a brownish blight. The underneath branches have become brittle and are breaking off. Leaves have only sprouted on the higher top branches this year and the whole tree is looking sparse. There is a creamy, slippy substance forming on the exposed roots, if you remove it it comes back more. The bark looks fine.
Does anyone know what is happening ?
