Willow tree leaves

Hi am in need of some advice on the state of my willow tree. It's as though something has been eating my leaves and only on the one side not all of it. Im wondering if I should spray something on it? Or will it do even more damage? Any advice would be appreciated! X

Yes, you can get sawfly larvae and caterpillars, amongst others. Have a close look at the leaves, you may be able to spot them in action.

  • Thanks for your response. Any idea on what I can do/use to get rid of them? Thanks

You can blast them off with a hose if they're reasonably large, or buy a caterpillar-killing spray from the garden centre. You'll need to spray the underside of the leaves thoroughly, as it's a contact insecticide.

  • Thank you very much for your advice alina. Much appreciated!
