Zinnia

I love Zinnias with their fabulous colours. I save seed from them every year but seldom get a good germination rate. I use normal potting/seedling compost and start them off in a warm place. Results are patchy to say the least. What am I doing wrong ?

You need to start them off in the dark.  As soon as the seedlings have started to germinate, bring them out into the light.  All of mine have germinated.
