How to post a link?

I would really appreciate step by step advice on how to post a link on here to another website.

I'll try to explain.

In the normal typing box, type what you normally would then when ready to post your link, you first have to get the URL (address) from the site you want to post. You just need to copy the web address and paste it in here. For example:

http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/the-potting-shed/fork-handles/3533.html

or

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h17gIW9paO0&feature=related

When you paste the link, and press enter for another line, it should automatically underline itself if the web address is correct. Then press sumbit if you have finished your post.

I've copied and pasted the link. I didn't realise that you needed to press enter to get to get the underlining?

Becks- you are a star thanks very much, this has been a sticking point for me for months, all I was missing was hitting the enter the button

There is another way of doing it, which involves highlighting the link or some text, then clicking the linked chain icon next to the smilies box on the right, which brings up a box which you have to insert the link address in again, then insert it, then submit, but that's just messing around.

The other way is simpler to explain. And you are very welcome. x
