..I hope this doesn't get on anyone's nerves.... if it does, please say so... but if you want to have a go at uploading yours, in various sizes and shapes... please join in....any old pic will do, as long as it's decent...

I'm testing using the 'tree' icon above only... to see if it will enlarge...

...ok... by reducing the size by 10% horizontal, and 10% vertical, it seems to work...

I didn't know there was another way to upload a photo other than the tree icon.

That one works nicely, including the extra bit of enlargement with the little lens. That's not always there even if the pics enlarge.

I'm going to time the upload of a fullsize pic

http://s4.gardenersworld.com/uploads/images/original/24208.jpg?width=273&height=350&mode=max

That was 2 mins and 10 secs from first click to ready to submit

and it doesn't work

about half a minute all together, reduced by 30%

3648 x 2736 reduced to 1095 x 821. Reduced by 30%

...I can't understand how my polyanthus didn't work that time, I reduced to same size as the others....  your's didn't work either...

oh. that's better now, of yours..... wonderful...

So what does that tell us?

Your roses are OK at twice as big as mine but the primulas aren't

It says on the 'help' that the site automatically resizes the pics. It doesn't say anything about maximum size.

28/05/2013 at 22:50

...no, I can't get this one right... I wonder if it's because this photo of the primrose above,  was taken in 'close up' mode...?  I notice the pixel size is very small... I'm going to try another ordinary one...

Just going to try mine the way I always do - see if it works.  If it does I will stick with it ....

That zooms enough to show my shattered terracotta pots !  I replaced them last weekend ....

28/05/2013 at 22:57

It does chicky, so what do you?

28/05/2013 at 22:59

...yours works beautifully chicky.... I think I'm satisfied now, I've managed to enlarge that last one after 3 goes... I reduced it by something like 20%...

nutcutlet,... I'm wondering if this site isn't resizing them automatically as it says on the help pages, like you said... something not quite right... we shouldn't have to do it ourselves should we...?

They are photos from a Blackberry, emailed to myself at full resolution and then saved on the computer.  Then just use the tree icon to upload them without changing anything.

I'm not good with connecting camera's to computers, so just take the photos with the computer (well, Blackberry) itself.

That works - my room just got filled with a cerise and yellow hit !!

We shouldn't need to salino and although I originally started reducing them for my convenience in the past I didn't do that and they were OK. I don't think it's us, when I first came to this forum there weren't problems with pics, they all seemed to enlarge. Mine and everyone else's

We've seen a few nice pics tonite though
