after months of trying to get this sorted i still cant upload pics and cant get smilies, please delete me so i can start all over Alan4711

The smilies are on the bar above where you write, just press on that and the smilies come down. Then choose the smiley you want and click on that. To put pics on has taken me awhile, but click on the tree on the same bar above and then follow the instructions.

If you want to delete and join  again I think you have to do that yourself.

I can't get smilies either, I think it is because I am on an iPad, when `i use my emojis on the iPad they come out like this.....smiley face ????. The smilies were there the first day but have since disappeared!!

Alan, I've sent a message to Daniel

How's your trapped nerves?

Hi Dove, saw the specialist last week ,he showed us an amazing picture of my neck, the detail was unbelievable far superior to an xray ,unfortunately more serious than thought i need two ops to remove two vertebrae that are trapping the swelled cord and plates inserting if poss, hopefully soon as im now on a walking frame, left side temporally paralysed till the op i hope, with a bit of luck i might get the hospital in Cambridge he said its the best there is, so im watching that postman daily and the garden sits there waiting, Kate's going to plant all the new trees iv ordered, there will be fruit trees all over the place and lots to do if it goes well and fingers crossed ,thanks for the help matey and dont forget out drink come summer. good luck.. this is a smilie ?;;?

Hi Alan.

Sorry about the surgery news.  The garden will wait.  Sure all will be well.

Those fruit trees sound good.  I put in an orchard for a friend few years back and she has tons,of apples and pears that I .....I mean she.....enjoys immensely

Alan, sorry to hear that you need so much sorting out, but so glad that you're getting sorted!!!

Definitely haven't forgotten the drink  as soon as you're passed fit for alcofrolics we'll come and help you celebrate

Hi Alan, sorry to hear you need surgery,  hope you don't have to wait too long. Hope all goes well best wishes x

Tracey I'm on an IPad too and mine work just fine. What version of iOS are you using? I am on 6 (I think!), well certainly not the newest one - it took long enough for me to update Bernard (my iPad) to 6 that, a week late I felt reluctant to do the next one

Hi Alan, Sorry to here that your neck problem's more serious than previously indicated - let's hope that you get the news you so desire fairly soon. If you'd appreciate some extra manual support re: tree planting, I'm not more than a 15 minute drive from Tenby - and generally considered fairly trustworthy with fork and spadework (when properly supervised)...pm me if you like the offer??

20/01/2014 at 20:11
I've no idea what version I'm on panda! I'm a technophobe as well as a novice gardener!! I'll ask my 15 year old, he will tell me and report back.

Alan, apologies, I hope you get that op soon and get your neck sorted out.

David - afraid/pleased to say Alan's just moved over to this side of the UK - he's on the Norfolk coast now, you might have to find a good B&B if you're going to help with the tree planting   Although, he did say he's got a really good local pub

morning all many thanks for your messages, it all helps a bit, yes thanks for the offer Dave but B&B here cost a fortune long way as well matey ,right im sitting here with the windows out new ones going in and the boiler needs the no show plumber AGAIN,and its thick and i mean thick FOG creeping into the house and it all smells seay, ozoney, piratey, spooky and bluming Cold,But the greenhouse i fell through now has some polystyrene sheets for the time being and all looks well, the baby fig we bought with us was romping away now she,s snoring away all wrapped up and cosy in the corner Dove advised me to keep her in a big pot for first year and how right she was ,this year into a fig pit and Bobs your wotsit, right be lucky everybody im watching you all. Many thanks Alan

I thought I would post on this thread as it seemed appropriate.  I have now come on the laptop to try and put a pic on my avatar and I just can't do it, it won't load at all and it is so frustrating, any ideas anyone?  I'm going to try and upload a pic of my garden, see if that works!!

Hope you are soon on the mend Alan, sounds very painful

Are you showing off Brumbull LOL!  I've done it now, I think the picture I wanted may be too big so have used my 2nd choice.....as you can see

Reply to Alan4711 - I'm sorry you're having trouble with emoticons and image uploads. I've sent you an email, with some suggestions for resolving the issue.

Reply to Traceynewbie - yes, the problem with the image you originally tried to upload could have been the file size. We suggest keeping the file size to less than 1Mb - that usually does the trick! Do drop us a line at website@gardenersworld.com if you have any further trouble.
