Best buy bulbs

I have a question about buying bulbs. Usually I buy from the local Wyevale but this year I want quite a few more - about a hundred alliums. Is there a good company out there who does alliums reasonably in bulk because the GC is quite expensive. Or should I just grit my teeth and pay up?  Any advice welcome. Thanks

Try 'Kiss My Grass'. They sell alliums in packs of 100 for just over £20. I have no idea if they are any good but I have just ordered something from them so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

You've got to love a company with a name like that.

I've used The Bulb Co (also under Gee Tee bulbs)for various bulbs - excellent service. If you take a look at their online site you'll get prices for all the alliums they stock. It largely depends on the type you want, so prices will vary a lot. There are lots of specialist sites. Peter Nyssen is another well recommended supplier that many forum members have used  image

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Peter Nyssen do 100 prices on all their alliums. They are reliable and provide good sized bulbs. Prices vary according to variety. A. Moly is £7 per 100, A. 'Purple Sensation' is £24 and so on. I have used them for over 30 years without complaint!

I've bought bulbs from j Parkers for years - and have always been delighted with their size, quality and price. I know they get bad reviews but think thsee are always to do with their plants. I intend to buy quite a large number of bulbs this Autumn and have been doing some research: de Jaeger, Sarah Raven, Crocus. Yes, the sizes might be very slightly bigger but I haven't found anything to compare with j Parkers and will be buying from them again with total confidence.

    Peter Nyssen.
  • There is a much bigger range here than I expected. Thank you everyone. I looked at the Kiss My Grass site and they do bulk packs in the thousands...a little too many for me!  I'll work my way through the  other suggestions.
