Chelsea tv coverage.

Chelsea next week.

Can I ask what we want from the TV coverage?

For me it's the gardens, gardens and more gardens.

In previous years we've seen the same gardens over and over again and missed out many others entirely.

I also hope we don't get " back stories". A couple of years ago we had about 20 minutes of Jamaican flower arrangers meeting their prime minister.

If the " back stories" are so interesting, make a seperate programme about them.

As lovely as Sandi Toksvig, Esther Ranszen and Julian Clary etc  are. None of them had a garden which was worthy of covering at the expense of the show gardens.

What about you guys?

I won't be watching because what I want won't be shown.

    I'd want plants and gardens

I'd get what you describe above

    Could not agree more Hostafan!!!!!!!

I want to see the overall design properly, but also the planting combinations up close so you can see varieties.

I hate these 'celebrities' who know nothing about gardening yet get up-close onto the show gardens and then appear on the TV!!

Grrrrrr.......can you tell I left getting my tickets too late and I'm not going and I'm grumpy???? image

Nevertheless I'll watch every minute of it!image

I like the gardens, and the plants in the marquee.  I like the back stories of the nurserymen and women, more than the designers, although I do like seeing how the gardens come together.  I will be clogging up our TV planner with recordings of everything they televise ....for once the Chicklets Hollyoaks et al will have some serious competition for space.   I love itimage

I've got tickets Claire (sorry, didn't mean that to sound gloatingimageimage).  We normally get ours just after the Christmas holidays are over, just to be on the safe side....they seem to sell out pretty quicklyimage

I would like some more names to plants when they focus on them, not just a quick photo flash.

Agree with Hostafan - Chelsea for me is about the gardens and the plants and I want to see them all, not just a few constantly repeated.

I enjoy seeing more about the nurserymen and women and how and why they grow the plants they do.  I would like to see more about the judging criteria too but absolutely no celebrities or flower arrangers.   That's a different programme.

I very much enjoy having proper gardeners and designers talking about the plants and gardens so don't want any Nikki or Sophie  or other non gardening Tomasina, Dick or Harry presenting the show or doing gimmicks.

I'd like to see a lot more of independent specialist nurseries/growers and the plants they grow and develop.
