I have some enchinea pri
madonna rose which are now in 41/2 inch pots. Should I plant them out now or over winter them in the greenhouse?

You can do either Lulu. If the root structure is pretty good then they will establish before winter. The only problem with them is slugs love them, so depends on your slug problem really.
Thanks Dave. I think I'll keep them till spring as there has been a bit of nibbly on one or two
I was advised to leave echinacea til spring. Think that might be because of my heavy soil tho.
I'd keep them in
That's what Verdun told me last year
In the sticks near Peterborough
I would keep them in as well. they are not as strong as the rudbeckia.
Dont wish Summer away yet Verdun! Its still firmly here in Wales
I have read somewhere that Echinacea does better when it has been allowed to grow into a good size pot before being planted out.
