Thanks for the site, nut, very interesting. I have 4 Buzz, pink, white, lilac and purple, would love to have the dark red one.

I fancy dome of the different species but I don't think some of them are too hardy.

ZombieGardener

nice site is that your own? Ive a couple of purple ones that are just starting to open it's flower's now. I've also got some seeds for a white one, they have been in the greenhouse for a couple of months now. No sign of life at all yet, but i was told it could take months to germinate.

nutcutlet

not my site ZombieG, wish it was. shrubs take longer than annuals to germinate, maybe it's too hot in there. Don't give up on it though, put it outside and water now and again or leave it to the rain. Sometimes a change shocks the seeds into germination.

their easy from cuttings, even I can get them to take. do you know where there's a white one growing to cadge a shoot or two?

I wish i knew where there was a white one for cuttings. I would even buy one but just dont see them in the garden centre's. I've got some cutting's on the go of the purple one's looks like out of 4 cuttings 1 has failed so i'm happy with those. I will try putting the seedtray outside and see if i can get a kick start on them. I had not thought about that. I've not been going nuts with the water more of a light mist with a spray bottle thing. Were expecting a wet weekend here maybe some rain will get them moving. thanks for that.

Hi zombiegardener, I have access to a white buddleia if you'd like some cuttings, just wondering if it a twig or two would survive postal journey? I'd be quite happy to get some for you. Variety is 'white profusion'.

I have a couple of buddleja buzz, still in pots - Sue, how high do they actually end up? My plants are young yet, but I want to put them in a wide border and I can't decide whether they should go in the middle or the back.

Fairygirl

I've got a huge white one here so again if anyone wants some it's no problem to attept sending. The big nursery I go to has several white ones on their list. Google -McLaren's Nurseries, Lochlibo Road, Glasgow.. Not sure if they do Mail Order but look them up.

Fairygirl

Sara- sorry just read your post. They're supposed to be around 1 to 1.5 metres high, so middle of border I'd guess if your border's quite wide.

Sara 4

Thanks Fairygirl - one persons version of 'dwarf' is probably not the same as anothers.  In the middle they go.

ZombieGardener

Thanks for the offer for some cutting's thats very kind of you. I'm keen to try anything to get hold of a white one. One of mine is the buzz i got it last year about 1ft high this year its much bigger I was under the impression the buzz was the dwarf one. i took this today of it.

Hi Fairygirl I was at my local garden centre on tuesday, no white buddleia but i did come away with a white fuchsia the "delta's sarah".

I will get a picture of the buddleia at the front tomorrow it must be 8ft tall.

Hi Zombiegardener, you do realise Deltas Sarah is a mauve/blue and white fuchsia? There are varieties that are more or less completely white, I have Annabel and Sabrina that are almost all white. ????

ZombieGardener

Hi Paula, yes it's in flower now. I will have to keep a look of for the Annabel & Sabrina. They was not in stock, the other one they had was Alice Hoffman.

Fairygirl

Well done Zombie! I was quite surprised that you said you couldn't get a white buddleia easilyo. You'll be a happy bunny now!

ZombieGardener

I'm very happy with it. I could not bring myself to plant it.  It's the first plant ive had that i've not known where to put it. I need to sleep on it and see how it looks tomorrow.
