Evening just a quick pop in. Have been to Cheltenham today buying things for wedding cake. that is becoming ever closer, this week am making sure I have everything then next week i start making decorations. Hopefully it will have cooled down by then so that icing etc is less sticky.

Garden will take a back seat for a while.

Just heard  the news. It's a boy. Huh!

Wanted there to be a Queen Elizabeth Diana etc names..... the 3rd.

Obviously not in my life time, but would have liked the idea. Hope Queenie lives "till she's 130, don't like Charlie boy.

Have a good evening all.

Thanks KEF for the hug

That garden was huge, swimming pool in one area like in a walled garden of it's own - could see it though a gate a bit and a tennis court they had a veg patch which was not doing that well -  sounds strange to say but was nice to see as mine not going that great all slugs eating stuff and being behind on growing veg

There was a small few spits of rain but then stopped dam sure the garden needs a bit of watering again

Just had a good water of all the plants. Gave them all a feed as well, hope it might stop them going over so quickly. Going to watch program about cosmetic sergery going wrong so that should be entertaining

Ggirl those are lovely - the butterfly on the Astrantia in particular  What a beautiful place. Hope you're feeling a bit better

punkdoc  - if you're on tonight - you made me laugh earlier. No one would have noticed if you 'd had a little splash in the pond..

You can say what you like about the Italians...but they knew how to design gardens! Great simplicity in the structure and very restful.

I have discovered today that magpies are getting in my growhouses and eating the tomatoes! Annoyed as I was - they've only had  a few - I had to grudgingly admire their boldness. I've had to use the little wire mesh shelves from the houses to make a screen down the front so that they can't get in when the flaps are opened, which they've been all day for the past few weeks. Pesky critters!

Hello folks - I've been watering ever since I got home -now I'm exhausted on the  sofa

22/07/2013 at 21:28

Just finished watering, and the heavens opened. Its thundering and flashing and tipping it down.

22/07/2013 at 21:38

Wish it would tip it down here.

KEF, what's the matter with Charlie boy, he likes gardens and horses?

22/07/2013 at 21:39

I love thunderstorms - whereabouts are you Fidgetbones?

I've tied up and supported everything that might flop too badly in heavy rain andf watered the big hostas under the trees just in case as they were looking thirsty.

It's been horrendously hot here today, and I'm really tired, so I'll say goodnight now - see you in the morning - if we've not all been washed away.

Sweet dreams

Wot  a fuss......a boy born to the royal family and it puts serious news on the back pages.

Been humid and cloudy here today but not so hot.  Think we will miss those thunderstorms too.
