Is your greenhouse too far away to allow for electricity? Since putting a cable down to ours, about 20 meters, it has been much better, as paraffin gives up 1 gallon of water for every gallon of paraffin used.  I know this does not answer your question, but just hoped it might give you another thought to think.

Would like to use electricity Bookertoo, but it is just too far and awkward to get a supply down there, but thanks for your suggestion.

For all round performance, I prefer a propane gas greenhouse heater. The initial cost is a bit pricey, but worth it. Shop around as there is a large price variation.

This is one example: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lifestyle-Propane-Gas-Heater-2KW/dp/B0041KNETY/ref=pd_sim_sbs_lp_2
