Yes, but you will need a very big pot, and use a loam based compost such as John Innes no 2

  • When you say a big pot, what size are we looking at

    You can grow from seed

I have 5 on my allotment and they are now forming a good wind break

They have grown to 4 foot in 3 seasons

What is Himalayan Honeysuckle, please?   Am growing per sunflowers from seed looking good, about 6 inches high.

It's Leycesteria, weve got a few around but not in pots.

I would use a pot about 30 cm or more across.

  • Thank you all for you input on my question, much appreciated
  • I have a 40cm pot so will give this a go

Can you transplant them? I've got a self-seeded one at front of a border and would like to move it to back. It grows very large. Can't see it working in a pot unless restricted root space limits growth.

    In London. Keen but lazy.

I'd give it a go in a pot. It's a lovely plant and worth a try. I prune mine and it doesn't do it any harm. I'm afraid to move mine back in case I lose it
