Nothing wrong with "a handsome strong young boy " in the garden Fairygirl
Gilly -if only I could find one
Enough of this frivolity- off to work!
Bye Fairygirl,have a good day.
Morning all back at work today so no garden time for me... Dove/ panda thank you for identifying the golden rod lol I have one on my garden and keep cutting it down thinking its a weed ( yes I know a weed is just a plant in the wrong place) I may leave it now if it looks that good!!! Would need to get Tito the dark recess where it is growing and clear out the nettles!!! Apparently another heat wave this week! Hurrah the toms will enjoy that! Lets hope it lasts x2 weeks am off to parents next week in Teesside am hoping to convince them to go to hardwick hall!!! Enjoy your day peeps
Sunny and very warm
Expecting couple agastaches this morning.....will grow for next year.
Serious accident locally on a road I'll be on soon. Another reminder to take care I guess
Good morning all,
Not posted for a while but lurk and try to keep up with you all.
That accident was horrific, Verdun. Take care. Are you popping in to the exotic nursery near there?
Hearing talk of ragwort, I pulled some up near where I live to stop it seeding everywhere, stupidly not wearing gloves. I felt really dizzy yesterday but gradually feeling better. I know it's poisonous especially to horses but could it have this effect?
Gilly - noodling is a technical term for mooching about wherever the mood takes you, doing not very much at all ! One of my favourite ways to spend a day.
take care on your travels eveyone
And here comes Lazy Mary, truddling along behind everyone else.
Morning all you hardworking people. Do hope you feel OK soon PP. Sounds like it could have affected you. Have you googled it at all? Would be my first port of call! No doubt someone will be able to help on here.
Golden rod always reminds me of when I was a wee girl as there was lots in the garden. Can't say I like it that much. That and lavender seemed to be popular. I am going back a long time, a very long time.
Well, have a good day one and all.
Pam someone asked recently about ragwort being poisonous and I said I'd never had any ill effects and was always pulling it up when I worked with horses (for 20 years) I've never heard of it affecting humans but maybe it does. Perhaps you should have it checked out.
chick- I'm currently noodling then!
Just put a name to what I do most of the time.
My noodling took me to Leicester Square - where i am currently surrounded by 70,000 screaming teenage girls - one of whom is my responsibility!
Hi TT and Fairygirl,
I did google ragwort and it did say to wear protective clothing and I'm like you Fairygirl, I've got two retired shetlands and I've always pulled ragwort up when I've seen it so it might be just coincidence that I felt a bit gippy the next day.
I'm noodling too.
At the risk of detention-....chicky - what was going on in Leicester Square??
but you've probably found these.
Well I totally missedthis today- went straight out in garden. Now taking ages to catch up on everything
Will be good and go on to evening thread
FG - one direction - nuff said
I spotted you on the news Chicky!! You wanton woman.
I know, it's 10.40. Slapped wrists.
Good morning all
Sprinkler's on the herb bed - I wouldn't usually water them but the grapevine's at the back of the bed and it was only planted last year - I think it's roots are getting down a bit by now but it's ages and ages since we had anything other than a light shower (this is the dryest part of the UK you know ) . The rhubarb's there too and it's looking a bit limp and floppy - I'll give it 15 minutes each end and then move the sprinkler to the runner beans and raspberries.
Morning all... Dove my goodness that's early! I have managed to drag myself out of bed get ready and get to the train station no gardening for me today although last night I did plant up some jasmine cuttings that I snaffled from outside a house being demolished mmmmmm first iris's now jasmine I seem to like saving plants... It was a very nice one with a purple/black stem and pure white flowers. Have just treated them like basal cuttings bit I fear it may be to late but who knows nothing ventured and all... I think if it wasn't for jungles and camping I would have liked to be a plant hunter.... Lol have a good day all and enjoy your gardens
Really bored on the train.....
Gazing out the window as morning sheds its light on the breaking day. Watching concrete monsters go by and admiring the delicate plants and flowers holding on in this concrete mass. The golden hues of softly swaying grasses punctured with the velvet richness of budlea waiting to feed the fluttering butterflies. And even in this concrete mass the plants will not let go. Their life lines buried under Tarmac and concrete they hold on giving life and energy to so many. How many pass these wonders every day? The unseen by many just on their way. What delights you miss my fellow travellers
