we planted pak choi for the first time and it does not appear to be growing to look like a pak choi. it seems to have grown in a single stem about 10" high and has now sprouted yellow flowers but does not look anything like on the label, ie: no heart at the base.

Any comments will be helpful. i have attached a foto of the rows that we have planted.

sorry, the foto's side on. lol to the side of the pak choi is spinich. But if anyone has ever grown the pak choi, please let me know if it should look like this.

thank you all

I think it is too early for pak choi. It shouldn't be sown until after the longest day to avoid it bolting. It looks like your's are indeed bolting.

Yes, they've bolted. Mine did the same, it was either too cold or I didn't water them enough, I'm going to try again with a fresh sowing this weekend and hopefully they'll do better!

i bought them ready started from the garden centre. do you recommend that i buy the seeds and sow them myself then.

thank you for your responses

i'll try again and hopefully have more luck.

Yes I would try seed as both of my sets germinated quite easily. Good luck!

My pac choi has just been transplanted into a trough, still small having germinated about 4 wks ago, now in cold GH overnight and out for the day.
