pittosporum Tom thumb

How small can I keep a pittosporum Tom Thumb? I have one about the size of a large beach ball, and ideally don't want it to get much bigger. I know they generally do grow quite large but wondered if I keep it in check by regular pruning will it sulk or be ok?

You can keep it fairly small but I don't think beach ball size though.I have two and I cut them back each year to about 2ft across and it grows to about 3ft over the growing season.
