Planting for south facing wall

Any suggestions for planting for a narrow boarder on a south facing garage wall?. Don't want climbers  as they will climb up garage roof.

  • Thank you. Can't post a photo as friend's garden. The length of the boarder is 12ft and the depth away from the wall is only 2ft.The soil is dandy but with plenty of organic matter.Still not keen on climbers.

  • Sorry, Should have read the soil is SANDY!

I would fill the whole border with lavender, thymes and rosemary. Or London Pride. All year round interest.
