Hi Derek, not really sure what you are asking or wanting?

I look at loads of threads here out of interest and to learn from other people. Many of the threads I read I don't answer simply because I don't know too much about the subject so don't feel I have a lot to add the subject/question being posed. I'm happy to read the answers off others and to learn from them. If I come across a thread that I can help with or have an opinion about then I will answer.

iam on here to look maybe answer but if ive got not a clue what iam on about i woundnt dream of saying anything, id just wait till the more advanced gardeners on this forum answer and they make sense.

Derek-I dont see the point either-are you asking that people who want to contribute shouldn't or are you asking for those who dont want to contribute should even though they may have nothing to add

i agree with most of the above some people have already given the advice i would have so i move on to another thread, or just read other threads for advice

It's not just people who look at your thread - there are also Bots, such as Google Bot and Bing Bot which trawl through stuff on the internet - it's the way that Search Engines operate.   It's very likely that they register as having 'looked at' it too. That's the way the internet works.

There are also Bots which trawl for Spam.

Clogherhead, are you asking that more people join the debate in order to stimulate more ideas? There are some very knowledgeable people using this forum and others (like me) who are very much learners or who (like me) only know about certain aspects of gardening. I come on to the forum to learn as much as to contribute. I do think it takes a bit of courage to contribute, too. There is always the possibility of being shot down in  flames and some people mind that more than others.

I have not idea what griddish means but I have a horrible suspicion that I understand all too well what 'a bit dim' means.
