Down Boy!!!

Brought back memories of John Noakes and Shep

Not from my own childhood but I loved watching Raggie Dolls with my girls

Does anyone apart from me remember the Ping Wings?  They were penguins that lived in a water butt when I was really little, so about '63 or '64, I guess - we lived in Brighton at the time and I think programmes were regional at the time.

Don't think I ever saw Ping Wings or The Adventure Game.

Gilly who did you like was it Napoleon or David McC ( don't think I can spell Illya or Kuriyakin ) ?  I liked the smarmy Napoleon.

Tea, I'd still be on cloud9. Bet that other bloke was his mate Sam ...saddo here again! Daydreamer was my fav' song.

Think after all that Cassidy recalling I could do with a Vulcan mind meld, or a memory wipe.

I remember the Ping Wings, but not in detail - long ago. We lived in Horley, so in between London and Brighton.

I liked Illya (David McC). The producers got Napoleon to appeal to women, but the women mostly liked Illya!

Just watching the news on bbc1, David Essex, still got a lovely smile. Didn't see it all but he said David Cassidy was a bit strange. Think he meand now not sure.

Just Googled David Cassidy, he certainly hasn't aged well! Shame, such a pretty young man, now looks more like that drunken ex footballer, can't remember his name.

19/10/2013 at 11:43

Lol which one, there's so many drunken ex footballers Sue

... and now I know how old you all are! HA!

The Young Ones, The Good Life, The Beiderbecke Tapes, Horizon (Yes, I'm so old I remember when Horizon was good) ... ah ... I think I used to like Mighty Mouse but after seeing in on youtube I can't understand why.

Used to watch Open All Hours and The Two Ronnies too. Sometimes they were funny.

sg lily, what a coincidence! I lived in Reigate until I was 11, then we moved to Horley, where my sister still lives!

This thread is showing our ages. I must be around the same age as Swiss Sue and older than Verdun. Some of the programmes are totally unfamiliar, must be people younger than me or in 69 - 73 nurse training, no time for TV, mid 80s moved to France so no English TV until satellites got going.

20/10/2013 at 19:01

Men age more slowly than the women do so I'm getting younger in comparison every year.............oops!    I'll get my coat.

20/10/2013 at 20:30

Agree with you Swiss Sue - Z-cars , in the early sixties, featuring young actors, Colin Welland, Brian Blessed, and Judith Dench - it was about the only programme that dragged me away from girls and football!
