I have been lifting 1st early potatoes, Rocket & P. Javellin etc,to be out before the blight arrives. If tubers from this early spring planting had been set aside, as suggested, for a Christmas ready crop,they would surely be sprouting out of the potting shed roof by now!(& produced babies on the bench).
Has anyone saved January seed potatoes till June without a coldstore? I doubt it. I'll have to try next year then, as the current years spuds wont sprout until December.
