I heartily agree with Bobbie on the Daphne, my odorata 'Aureomarginata' flowers for about 8 weeks and is a real scent show-stopper. The other early heavily scented plant I adore is Viburnum x Judii, its beautiful white flowers have the most remarkable scent.
Who needs roses?
