I have a Passion Flower a White Lilac and a Magnolia .As an amateur I would appreciate advice on the extent of any pruning to be carried out at this time of year. The Lilac and Magnolia are fairly young and I planted them about five years ago from small plants.Plenty of flowers in the past three years.

Don't touch the lilac or the magnolia, or you will lose next year's flowers. I've never grown passion flower, so will leave that for someone else to advise on.

Passion flower I pruned every year in autumn or early spring.  Cut it back by half without going too far into old wood.   However, it became a bit of a thug here so it was removed.  Tempted by some  of the tender varieties though as they could  survive here
