having looked into it a bit more i think its Euonymous Latifolius, the large leaved spindle?

It may be so Reed. I would take into account where it came from, who planted it.

99% of plants in gardens come from a local garden centre. The most widely available are europaeus and alatus. But if this was planted by someone that likes to look for something a bit more unusual it could be anything.
