big garden

My boss has a very large garden which is 40 foot long and 8 foot wide going down to 2 foot wide.

It is semi shade with the sun in the afternoon and he wants it planting up with evergreen flowering shrubs.

He has asked if I would help him out.

He said money no problem and he only has rhododendrons in which grow very well.

Need a list of good evergreen flowering shrubs / plants.

Any advice would be great.

I do have some ideas.

If the rhododendrons grow well, might that indicate that the soil is on the acid side? I'm wondering if some of the Heathers (I won't say which as I always get it wrongimage) camellias, ceonothus and cotoneaster, choisia, there is a winter flowering honeysuckle which I think retains it's leaves. Hope this gets you somewhereimage

Oh, and there are some roses which are semi-evergreen; any good rose seller will tell you which, I use rosebuddies.com

Do you mean metres, 8ft wide is very narrow for large shrubs.

  • I was wondering that!

Or do the measurements relate to a bed/border that needs planting up?

    Sorry

I size of the garden is in metres.

But this is only one part of his garden

He also has smaller beds to plant up.
