Come in for lunch. Finished digging and manuring new strawberry bed. Cut branches off huge smoke bush and done some other bits of pruning. Now it's all lying on the lawn and needs clearing up. Any volunteers?

Harlow Carr being put off until tomorrow. Didn't sleep too well last night, so feeling a little tired today. Slept late and finished reading my book this morning. Feeling extremely lazy.
I should be out in the garden but can't be bothered.
Happy gardening all.

I blame the lack of spring !!! we are the same today , lethargic and can't be bothered . What have you been reading ? , I have re started the hobbit, half way through Gandhi 's autobiography and flicking through others

I have made ginger cookies. They are just cooling now, then I will sample them! Yum.

You could be right Bunny, Keeper of the Light by Dianne Chamberlain, not very deep, but enjoyable reading. I need an antidote to academic reading!

Bread rising, big vat of leek and potato soup made, lovely and sunny in the garden, tempted to sow some more seeds but am sneezing so much I know it would be a disaster.

Making leek and potato myself today!

Good to have a lighter read I think , relaxes the mind
Haven't we been busy , quite a menu we have soup and bread followed by cake then a ginger cookie to finish off
I want to have another go at bread but keep putting it off, OH is master of the bread machine so let him use that instead ...I shall make cakes, he keep asking if 'his cake' is ready yet , would like it split and filled too . Doesn't want much

Hey peeps, I was just moving some wood from on top of a patch I dug last year, but haven't decided what to do with it yet, and these are coming up all over the patch. Any ideas of what they are? Or is it too soon to tell.

Hyacinth ?

You know me Geoff, haven't a clue about plants/flowers. This is the patch that had all the rubble on by the patio.

Bunny is first to guess! A prize will be awarded to the correct guesser!

Hyacinths?

Good Afternoon I have had a good day so far

First thing we went to the Tile Warehouse to choose the tiles for the new shower room- I saw some I liked and a glass border which I quite fancy

Now I can order the flooring, too

I have been dusting and hoovering and have cleaned the kitchen - also done the ironing molehill

We are babysitting our 2 youngest Grandchildren this evening so I have made some ham and parmesan pinwheels to go with some nibbles which we will have either watching Mama Mia or Dancing for Comic Relief

Chunky chicken and veg soup is made - i will make some dumplings to go with it I think

The weather is supposed to be good tomorrow so I will be able to go and do some more potting up in the greenhouse

Have a lovely evening everyone
