Been busy in the lovely sunshine this afternoon. Oh joy. Got a few things sown out of seed mountain!! Built coldframe. Just clearing up now. Then into house to clear up... might take more than a few minutes. Kitchen floor disgusting. Kept trailing in and out for coffees etc. Son persuaded to tidy room. Was a request at one point to move so he didn't have to bother! ! Now gone to drink wine in a friends garden. Shall I put plastic bags over the potted up begonia corms? :P:P

Nice one Sue! It's nice to see the sun. Really lifts the mood.

Afternoon Deano!

Sue-dont think they need a bag-just makes sure they are wet and warm-like my...... ???

Dean is getting earlier and earlier

Quick catch up from a quiet dog-rescuing office. Glad in a way it din't turn out sunny - hoping for that tomorrow. If it is I DEFINITELY shall not be peering in cracks to try and clean out what's there

28/02/2013 at 15:53
Forced myself home Geoff, even left allotment key in other coat pocket on purpose so I didn't get tempted, have some stuff at home I really need to get on with ; )
28/02/2013 at 15:54

Are you off tomorrow now then Flo?

28/02/2013 at 16:11

Back inside. Ended up cleaning out the big pots after all. Moved the big coldframe a bit so, when it actually warms up, I can have my breakfast sat outside without anyone seeing me.

Then realised that hadnt cut back the 1 Epimedium, so that is now done & I can see all the snowdrops & hellebores better. The flowers of the epimedium are just showing too. It's always a bit behind the others. Good job it's council bin collection day on Sat as have filled it again.

Finally caught up. Lottie- that's good news. J.

Is everbody asleep?

28/02/2013 at 17:17

Not asleep, just been finding more ancestors! About to go home and get ready for Cubs in a minute though. Don't think we are doing anything too exciting this week. Might have to organise a game or two.

28/02/2013 at 17:18

One of my ancestors died in Bermondsey workhouse in 1855. Sounds a bit grim!

Afternoon all, I see I got a mention on a previous page

Hope I don't get blamed for any leggy seedlings though. I think the sun must have stayed in the north all day, still a bit cold and very cloudy all day here. Getting excited as I'm starting on the seeds tomorrow, first up is peas and sweet peas.
28/02/2013 at 17:22

Hello, me again. Yes, Geoff, I have free day tomorrow - well, at the moment.

28/02/2013 at 17:24

Just popped back in to pop chicken in to roast.....

Off again..

been lurking on this forum for a couple of years, but actually decided to be a 'poster' and have finally got around to reading some posts on this thread, it's like a good book

So Hi to everyone, I'm 38, married, 2 kids under 5, started enjoying gardening about 5 years ago, (but my folks always been keen) bought my first house 2 and a bit years ago with a BIG (well compared to new-build anyways and my ex-rented pocket hanky) garden. Trying to basically make enough raised beds to sort most of our veg, constructed 10x12' GH, currently sorting everything! Hopefully get some pics up of what has happened so far and what I hope to achieve. This thread is basically the daily banter while having a cuppa?

Everyone seems very nice and very knowledgeable, a pleasure to make your aquaintance. Oh I'm also 5 miles from Birmingham city centre and enjoyed some lovely sunshine today

Regards Ben.

So going for a dreamy walk in the snowdrop woods then??

Lottie-let us know if you have a claim on the throne?
