Bunny kids are 16 and 17. Just on the cusp of letting go. Still nervous though.
Just hope all that nattering and nagging was worth it.
Still snowing. Cats not keen on going out.

Is there anybody there said the traveller ...

Morning forkers, woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep so got up. A winter wonderland out there. Big snow drifts opposite the house. Blackbirds and robins looking for food, but it is buried in the snow and I doubt if I will be able to get up there to put new out.

Might as well do some marking!

Morning forkers,

A winter wonderland here too. Snow seems to be forecast for the entire day.

I cleared a small area to put down some food for ground feeding birds. It won't remain clear of snow for long.

Might try to take some snaps later, or might wait till tomorrow, when it will probably be even deeper.

Morning Gary & Glyn. I was also wide awake early, but then I did go to bed early last night.

Some snow here, not much, sort of sticking, but cf you 2 a bit pathetic. Grew up NWorcs/Black country border on a N facing hill, so snow in any winter was/is the norm. Become a wimp nowadays.

Squirrel on niger feeder, but birds not arrived yet. Lots of singing this morning, despite the weather.

Paperwork awaits here too- no excuse not to finally sort it out. J.

Happy retirement Derek.

Just watched the army rescuing drivers in Cumbria on TV. Don't think I'llbe going out today.
23/03/2013 at 07:21

Good morning all   Hope you're all warm and safe - no snow here - yet, but the skies look heavy

Happy retirement Derek  I'll be joining you shortly

It seems we've got another troublemaker on the Board targetting Brumbull and posting as Brumball.   I've alerted the Moderator but of course it's the weekend so not a lot will happen. He's obviously done this to try to exploit the 'little local difficulty' we had the other day - I'm sure we're all far too kind, lovely and sensible to let that happen - don't want to be daft enough to play into the hands of a sock puppet!!!

no snow yet but very high winds and rain

23/03/2013 at 08:04

Glyn, it's supposed to not snow tomorrow???? So providing they get the roads sorted today, it might be a possibility to get down there. Trouble is the Staff hills & SMidlands en route.....

Have been reading the paper on-line. Not half as good as actually curlingup on sofa/floor with it. This is not getting any paperwork done....

Derek- hope you enjoy your retirement. J.

About an inch of snow over night , windy still so blowing it around , due more as seems the east will get it now , being further east we missed the Cumbrian snow yesterday.
Happy retirement Derek

OH working all weekend I'd say so bed stripped and in washer , some cleaning up, log stacking required by fire, then I think il do office work .

Ooh along with Mr Pheasant we have a couple of curlews wandering the field this morning , they must be finding it tough too
23/03/2013 at 08:10
Hoping that they will be able to sort it out when it stops snowing, the wind my still cause a problem blowing the snow around. Still snowing here and the drifts opposite the house now up to the top of the gate and the wall. A few cars moving up and down the road, but not many.

Going to make a nice pan of leek and potato soup later. Then lamb chops for tea.
23/03/2013 at 08:28

One of the Curlews, sorry couldnt get closer...he would have flown away...

Morning all. Lots of snow here too. Still coming down. Happy retirement Derek.
Want to make some soup too. Will have to be something fairly quick as I don't know what time man is coming to fit cooker. Don't want him to burn himself on a hot cooker.
Need to go get some new shoes for start of job on Monday. Hope it stops snowing!
