Hi Inka - next door neighbour has nurtured one, keep frost free , absolutely loads of space and sheltered, feed lots and you end up with a great plant that seeds everywhere
Just been looking at wedding cake designs. Nephew is getting married and asked me to make cake - it's what i do, make family wedding cakes.
Thought i had better restrict design to what I can do, before some elaborate one is asked for. Have a feeling that they are all to simple for this bride. have e-mailed them to them and will wait agog (well not really)
Good break from knitting. I have photos of little things will post later when not in wedding cake mode
You could knit a wedding cake?
Hello Everyone, sorry I haven't been in touch. Hope you are all very well despite this grim weather we are having . Still we are better off that some peeps in Cumbria etc so have a lot to be thankful for.
Is anyone managing to do anything in the garden? I did dig a big area of the veg patch a couple of weeks ago but apart from that have kept indoors as much as possible.
Sasha welcome back
And you found us on the right thread
I think everyone is stir crazy because of lack of gardening - I am
Sssssttttttiiiiirrrr ccccrrrrazzzzyy????-nnnnnoooootttt mmmeeeee !!!!!!!
I am happy as I found a tray of bluebell plants in local nursery for my woodland garden section...Can't garden but can get good stuff for when I can.
Sasha-how are things?
I think there will be as few bargains to be had-no-one is gardening much- no-one is buying plants
I have just awarded myself the prestigous title of top pricker. 2 hours but all my babies are coming on great guns . Still need an extension,
Caz and Geoff I would willingly sort yours out but I'm lacking in the space department.
Flo, I have indeed been a busy little bee.
I vote Bjay to appear on masterchef.
Hello Sash - how are you doing ?
Quite a find W.W.
i now need feeding .
Sorry Inka, never even heard of that plant but well done .
Sasha, great to have you around - good on yer, digging
Woodgreen - are they native English bluebells? I would love some of those. My garden is home to Spanish Bluebells which are pretty but I like to support native plants where I can.
Figrat - Nooooooooo.
Jean needs feeding ...
Chicken, pasta, salad, and anything else that's lurking in the fridge
Just realised - got that carried away I forgot lunch. I can see the choc getting demolished after as well.
masterchef - no way
Echium - full sun, mild temps and grows to 8ft tall. Heighbour is threatening to give me a seedling
Figrat - words fail me
Bloke and Lad are doing more manly stuff up my back passage (will post pics) so am on Full English Duty today and tomorrow. Lad's Mum has just moved to Orkney (!!!) from South Devon, making me feel matenal so have just baked a lemon drizzle cake for his elevenses tomorrow.
It was 10° this afternoon although cloudy, cleared up loads of prunings and dead undergrowth (except it was overgrowth of perennials left on for protection), still got the wisteria to do.
I made my 4 childrens wedding cakes. In France they have something called a "pièce montée" of choux pastry balls stuffed with patisserie cream and drizzled with caramel. My children wanted traditional English with rich fruit cake marzipan and royal icing in tiers as well. I only have one photo on this computer of the most recent wedding. It's the simplest cake to my DIL's design without pillers holding the cakes up. Bother, it won't download. I'll see what happens with photobucket.
Caught up briefly!
