Beck's don't mention that hat - I went to bed with a stitch from laughing last night !

We did have a giggle. Normal service is now resumed.

There are three dedicated para lympics satellite channels. What comes up at the start is 'Olympic Broadcasting Services', and they have some of the same music, and similar style of opening sequence, as used for the original lympics.

I didn't see any adverts at all, all morning, even during some long pauses between events.

The postman has just sent me a Spalding's bulb leaflet. I can claim £50,000 when I place an order. How nice.

I will share.

Kate, always had a sense of humour, when dealing with people who are cold wet miserable and not wanting to do the things you want them to do then it gets things done. You may be feeling the same way yourself but cannot show it, I have been asked if the smile was glued on, well yes at times. I was asked more than once if I was a Holy Roller as I did not swear, well not in their hearing, I felt if I had to swear at them I had lost hence the long string of nonsense I used instead of, it got a laugh.
Trolls cause misery as we have seen on some of the chat thingees so I never get involved is all.

Frank.

I've just been watching the blind / visually impaired judo. They are amazing people. I can't imagine what it would be like to never see my garden or a flower in bud . I feel very humble.

Jean £50,000 ? where do I sign up

Becks I am growing a variety of fruit trees grown from seeds I have discarded from the fruit, I know that they will probably not make nice fruit but It has been fun and cost me nothing but time.

I did manage 20 minutes in the garden between showers, next doors builders have put up a pagoda, to protect their materials from the rain and that went flying in the wind, I hope that their building is slightly stronger.

I have a sneaking suspicion my OH actually has some of those in the garage.........certainly seems to have enough mishaps anyway.

30/08/2012 at 17:59

I want some of those items too, would be great for pressies

Fingers in ears. Singing 'la la la la' loudly and tunelessly. Don't mention the C (or the X) word.

30/08/2012 at 18:49

Yule regret it...

But back to today's drama. SOMETHING has taken up residence in my shed, which houses spare fridge and freezer. It doesn't scuttle like rat/mouse, but there's definitely something there.

Maybe it is a hedgehog if you are lucky

Update. Bloke went in and investigated. Slow worm which I relocated (bloke don't like snaky things!)
30/08/2012 at 19:57

Lucky figrat. I would love slow worms!

Evening all! Have had a lovely afternoon playing with Jess. Nothing else. Just doing whatever she wanted instead of telling her 'I'm busy doing jobs' like most times. She's loved it. She's missed nursery.

Figrat! You did not just mention  the 'C' or 'X' word did you!! I nearly got kicked off the thread for doing that!

Kate, yes, we have planted other seeds from shop fruit as well. Still waiting on the Cherry and Apple ones to show though. Few strawberry ones have just poked through the soil! (Me and my strawberries )

Wonder how David got on in Aberystwyth?

Evening all, Figrat, could it be a lion? There was one out and about somewhere!

Had a lovely afternoon at Holker Hall in the south Lakes, (after OH continued to get his money's worth out of the NHS!) Then went on to our favourite cafe in Grange over Sands for tea and cake followed by a lovely walk along the promenade in the sunshine. Took some nice photos, hope I can manage to get them from the camera on to the computer.

More day trips and cake, I am envious.

Becks my apple seeds took quite a while to germinate. I have also germinated a peach stone. Sounds like you had a lovely day.

Not a lion then. How about a cat in a basket? My neighbours linen basket, fortunately none in.
