He's a chef at one of the local hospitals. He does sometimes have Christmas day off but only a couple of times in all the years I've known him.

Evening, I'm all cooked out and tired out, I am not budging off the sofa for the rest of the evening. It was lovely to have 2 days of visitors, but it is so peaceful when they leave. Rocky has come home now they have all gone. Going to catch upon yesterday's Merlin now.

Relax -Glyn-last Merlin tomorrow

Flo-that is useful-someone who can cook in the house

(did you just kick me?)

23/12/2012 at 21:00

Very useful, Geoff, though I sometimes hear murmurs of 'busman's holiday' emanating from the kitchen

Merlin tomorrow? Not next Sat. then

Oh, many thanks. I whizzed past the end to avoid the spoilers and hadn't picked that up.

Just doing me job m'am

23/12/2012 at 21:15

Take it easy Dove that sort of virus saps the strength ,  I've got a bad head cold and sore throat just hoping that it's gone very soon,  are these boards open over Christmas unlike the Beeb boards they closed.

23/12/2012 at 22:10

Rain-there is no reason why not-it is open 24/7 the rest of the year

23/12/2012 at 22:26

The reason I asked the question is because the Beeb closed over the Christmas holiday !

23/12/2012 at 22:28

I realise that-but this isn't the BBC

23/12/2012 at 22:38

Well pardon me for asking !

23/12/2012 at 23:08
Not sure why the been boards used to close, but I am pleased this one won't. OH has had a mammoth cooking session this afternoon to make his favourite pies. Trouble is he has made loads and none of the rest of us are really keen on them! Off to bed shortly, just watching a bit of Joanna Lumley

Good morning folks!  Thanks for all your good wishes - you're all very kind  - am feeling slightly more human today although still getting waves of nausea and cramps, but nothing 'serious' happening.  think I'm probably dehydrated so will try to remedy that .  Loved that video of the Nativity Play - there was a child with the same 'performance style' as that angel in my daughter's class - she never really grew out of it!

Morning all Christmas Evers,

Just 24 hours to go- and all that wrapping paper that you tenderly used- will be strewn all over the floor

Dove this could be another Christmas miracle-and you will be running around again with the rest of the world

Today's mystery choc- is -another celestial being

Moring forkers,

Another mega squelcherama outside today, and more rain for Christmas Day.

The most appropriate program on telly last night - Joanna Lumley retracing the story of Noah's Ark.

Morning, so much for my lie in, woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep. Came down for a cuppa and started titivating the decorations that the family sorted out yesterday. Managed to get some large pieces off the Chrissie tree, holly and ivy, which then got decorated with baubles. I shall post some photos of our endeavours later, don't expect too much though, I'm not very artistic.

Just got some present packing left to do. After my mammoth cook out yesterday, I'm taking it easy today. I made Nigel Slater's sticky cranberry sausages, ver nice, even though I say so myself!

Have a good day
Glyn
